from uniti to atom (with n-sats + n-sub)

Hi, I have an old UNITI (first version) +n-stas and n-sub, I wish to replace the UNITI with a new UNITI ATOM.

What do you think about an atom with n-stas and n-sub? Will the sound quality will be improved  compared to my old setup?

I haven’t made a direct comparison of a Uniti with an Atom, but I would not automatically assume that the entry level Atom outperforms the full width Uniti player. Can you take your Uniti to a dealer and compare them?

What I would say is that the new streaming platform on the Atom works well, and has a number of advantages over the old one in terms of functionality. I’ve been very happy with mine, using N-Sats. I haven’t tried hooking up my N-Sub yet, although it should be straightforward to do this, and you have the option of using either the low level connection from the Atom’s pre out, or the high level connection.

Good luck!

Ask your dealer if you can borrow one for a few days.

I'm using a Nova with N-Sats and a Velodyne sub and am very happy indeed. I went from Uniti to Superuniti to Nova and each change was a big improvement.

I've heard an Atom versus a Nova and the Nova was significantly better as you would expect but the Atom was not totally outclassed. My best guess is that the Atom will be much better than the Uniti but only your ears can make that decision. As Chrissu says, take your Uniti to a dealer and make the comparison - a lot easier doing that than with a multi box system like I used to have!
