UQ2 and fw 4.6.00/ Change in SQ?

A couple weeks ago I upgraded to 4.6. Update was a little weird, though both UQ2 and app read 4.6.00. Is BSL 2.1.9 OK for UQ2 after update? (App ver 5.9.1)
If it is not for placebo effect, streaming from NAS and Tidal -though only a smidge- sounds better now. I have better stereo separation, more defined bass and crisper highes. Downside is I need to turn the vol up more than I used to. No discernible change with Spotify and iRadio. What have your impressions been so far?
