Why do SME tonearm cables have 2 ground spades?

I'm not sure about "educated response", but the two spades allow you to ground to the turn table chassis (sometimes needed depending on armboard) as well as the phono stage ground post without having to solder in any extra wire.

Sounds pretty educated to me.
