NDX Fault 61
Posted by: Pcd on 09 May 2018
My NDX has Fault 61 with BridgeCo init fail showing on he screen this morning any ideas ?? the 4.6 update was done couple of weeks ago and has been been working fine until this morning.
I have carried out a system power down and restart including router etc but still the same the NDX is not showing up on the Naim app all other Naim devices are.
Any help would be much appreciated as it is very quite at the moment.
Managed to sort , powered down the NDX/XPsdr again unplugged the ethernet cable from the NDX, powered up the NDX when it had restarted it showed no network plugged the network cable back in and all is working OK.
I've had fault 61 a few times in the 4 years I've owned my NDX. A power off - wait a few minutes to allow all residual power to dissipate - & power up again has always fixed it for me.

Mike, strange I had my NDX for over three years and this is the first time it has happened.

.......... the way the cookie crumbles I guess Pcd. To maybe help allay your fears; I've been beta testing since day one & have done a lot of firmware uploads including going back & forth with older rev's & I have not had any indication that Fault 61 is associated with this, & that includes that it has been specifically questioned. Based on some info exchanges back in 2015 it was more or less concluded that its caused by the BridgeCo loosing connection with its WAN, I've not heard it was fixed or even if there was a something too fix. Additionally I had a Fault 61 appear on the NDX screen when it was not playing indicating it was very possible that it was caused by the phone line going down momentarily. I have it logged in the alarming but not terminal category.

Mike, thanks for the update one of the things that I could not understand as that neither the front facia buttons or remote buttons had any effect just wondering if the old girl is getting a bit tetchy as she could be on the way out when the NDX2 arrives.
........... a bit tetchy, ohh I'm sure not. I have a policy of not going near new stuff until its all settled down (I used to be at the sharp end of product integration & field testing & I'm keen on a relaxed stress free retirement life) That said I'm not changing anything until after a house move & to go active (integral pwr amp) speakers, so a higher spec'd 272 might be something to look at.
More Fault 61 Fun on my 172XS. I had it pop up once a while ago but was fine ever since...popped up again when dealer did 4.6 firmware update. They recommended it be sent in. Did that and they replaced the streaming board and it STILL pops up intermittently. Service said it may be the MCU (which would require a new motherbaord) but would be fine to use as is.
I had this fault on a Unitilite recently when I was doing the 4.4 firmware update prior to doing 4.6. A restart of the UL fixed it and it hasn't re-occurred. I think it's nothing to worry about unless it happens frequently in use or it doesn't respond to a power-down, wait, power-up again sequence.
