Supercap DR for Snaxo 242 or 282

My gut feeling is the scdr on the snaxo and both hcdr on the 282. mind you you need a 17pin burndey for powering the snaxo with a sc.

Thank you FranzK. The 2nd option pop out in my mind while writing my inquiry earlier. Hopefully the preamp will not get overpowered by the two hicaps. It’s just that the cd player will become a weak source for the performance IMO. Yes, the burndy is ready for collection together with sc next month.

I am aware this off topic but may I advise you to swap your Stageline K for a Prefix K. I did today and (blimey) waht an upgrade. Picked it up from Cymbiosis for GBP 350,- (!), the cheapest upgrade ever !! 

To make this 'on topic' again; put the SCDR on the Prefix and you'd be smiling for a long long time.

I think it is a bit akward to change the stageline to prefix when I am using NAC 282. Afterall, I am thinking to get a Urika when fund allows.

100% SuperCap on the SNAXO and Dual HiCap on the 282. The SNAXO just loves the SCap

Last Sunday, Supercap DR has joined into my system. I have experimented with few arrangement and found out that with the scdr on the 282, 2 hcdr to snaxo and stageline giving a better sound, more fluid to the musical performance.

With scdr on the snaxo and both hcdr on the 282, heavy bass noted to the sound. Less punch to the sound from the LP12. Perhaps the Flatcap XS on the Stageline doesnt do the job..? Maybe the new Burndy that’s need to run in cause the issue which I am not sure.

When I switched 1 hcdr to the stageline, it gives more weight to the sound.  I have yet to try direct connection stageline to 282 which I think I will do all the other configuration later. Just enjoy the music!!

Try AUX2 for the stageline, with a superline it gave a more coherent and fluid performance than the hicap which gave more detail it was somehow less relevant to the music. The stageline may react differently though. The fc will do a better job on the cd5xs without having to power anything else. Try one or two hicaps on the 282, it’s not guaranteed you’ll prefer 2.

It’s too warm to go poking around the system at the moment so maybe leave it for now and run in that supercap.

I forgot to mention and update my system, that I have sold the CD5XS early this month for an upgrade to CDX2 by end of this year. Looks like, I willl not be using the flatcap at all.

Maybe will try both hcdr powering 282 and stageline into AUX2 of 282. Otherwise, 1 hcdr will also become an obsolete in my system LOL!.

My money was on the best PS on the SNAXO-it has certainly been my experience that investment there is really worthwhile

In the same vein I have become boringly passionate about upgrading to an SL cable between pre-amp and SNAXO power supplies. Best vfm upgrade in my system for ages.
