Nova - Settings

Just wondering what others do.

I only use Tidal now, so I always switch off all inputs in the settings menu (i.e. digital, analogue, hdmi, USB, airplay, Chromecast...).

Also standby I used to set to 5 mins, but wondered if setting it to never, always keeps thing warm, like the old days (only power on and off, no standby). I recall someone quoted energy consumption.

Shame Naim have still not delivered the fabled display off.  Clock on in standby would be nice.

In standby there’s still a small current flowing through the important bits, so that when you wake the unit up it’s primed and ready.

I used to turn off all unused inputs but as I'm still up/down grading firmware and factory resetting I've left all on for now.

Agree, display off or clock would be nice (as would custom artwork uploaded via the app).

Thanks for the feedback guys, sticking with standby 5mins, to save the planet.

Inputs all off, kinda makes the whole point of the Nova pointless. As in the promise of connect it to everything but I never got beyond Hdmi, that was a total disaster.

I've also wondered if the Nova has too many inputs - something in the past I never felt was a bad thing on a pre-amp or integrated amp. I have to wonder if fewer inputs could have given a cheaper device, or money spent elsewhere on sound quality.

In reality I may well have made a mistake getting the Nova rather than maybe a NAC-N 272 as I already had my old active SBL system, but I think I wanted an 'all-in-one' for the family room until I got the rest of my stuff out of storage.

I love my Nova, I wanted a one box, none fussy setup for purely streaming (well original plan was Hdmi for TV movies and USB - but the former was a disaster).

on my Nova I did some energy checks:

Deep sleep. 1.1 watt

Standby. 2.2 watt

Standby + Server Mode. 20,6 / 21,6 watt. !!!

So 1 year Standby + Server Mode is the same as 10 years normal Standby.
