naim plant replacement
Posted by: pino on 24 May 2018
Dear friends of the forum I wanted a thing from you.
due to space problems I have to reluctantly let go of my nac 282 and 250.2 dr naim.
everything will be replaced with the new naim united nova.
my speakers are rega rs 10.
do I hurt?
sorry for the bad english and thank you all
Lovely speakers and I think they could be good with the Nova. Please report back on your findings.
I have owned a 282/250DR combo and have heard the Nova a few times, but only at shows. I think it would be tough for the Nova to compete with this classic pre/power combination but I have also been very impressed with the Nova.
If space is an issue and you need a one box solution, then you can't go wrong with a Nova.
I have a previous generation amp similar to your original setup, 82/Supercap/135s, fed by an NDX, into B&W 804S. My second system is a Nova into PMC 25.23s. Although the bigger system is overall better, t I listen to the Nova system a lot and enjoy the music immensely, so I don't think you will hurt. Enjoy the lovely new system you're getting, I''m sure you will, and as Christopher said please come and tell us how it sounds with the Rega speakers.

a nova is a nait xs level . I would not personally let go your wonderful electronics....The only advantage is space and nice looking box.
I went from active olive cds2/52/250/sbls, albeit a gap to an Atom, then Nova and I find the Nova better in nearly every way.
I have never heard the current classic line vs the olive though.
Nova is just so simple and slips into the background as opposed to high maintenance Multi box setup.
Yes if you have the space and inclination a multi box will always be better, but the Nova is no slouch and won't disappoint, look forward to hearing your thoughts ...

The RS10 is desgned for Osiris amplication and your current three box amplication seem just fine, sad with space problems
I would not buy a Nova before tested home on such speakers
It seems odd to have space constraints that require downsizing by a couple of small boxes, yet enable the retention of two enormous speakers.
Let her go, not the amps.

i didn’t want to offense your nova my friend. But, only on the aspect of electronics ( preamp with amp), the 282 /250 is better. The nova is a wonderful integrated box, nice looking, saving place and women crying, and probably a bargain for what it does. But the op has already the 282/250, i think that the risk is a little decrease in sound aspect....

Do we know that Pino hasn't?
Another Nova owner who used to have a top end olive system and has never been happier with my music system.

Well he didn't say as far as I understand, he said something about hurt and this might be meant as will it be a mistake ?
Agree with another poster having space for such large speakers and not a few boxes more sound strange
