When Will Naim Muso & Qb Be Roon Ready?

Posted by: davidhunternyc on 28 May 2018

Recently I purchased a Roon Core device and now I am looking for speakers. The Naim Muso & Qb are at the top of list but I learned that both of these speakers are not Roon Ready and cannot be used as Roon endpoints. Are there plans to make these speakers Roon Ready soon? If not, I will have to go to Bluesound.

Hi david I have replied to your thread on Roons forum a few times but here is my input on here. Musos can already used as Roon endpoints using Airplay. They will show up in Roon software as airplay devices you just add them and you can stream away. One caveat is max quality is 48khz so no hidef audio but more than enough for cd quality rips and purchased files. You can group them with other airplay units not with RAAT Roon ready endpoints. So if  you buy all Musos not a problem.  I you want Roon Ready and Naim then you could look at the Uniti Atom and add on some decent bookshelf speakers, it will hands down be better than the Muso and give you a damn good system that can also do a lot more.

It seems likely that Naim will produce new Musos at some stage, running a version of their new streaming platform, which can be used as a Roon endpoint. They will not announce such a new product until it is close to being released, so don’t hold your breath. Meanwhile, using Roon via Airplay works fine.

I have a Bluesound Pulse Flex and think it’s great. I’ve only heard a muso in a dept store so can’t comment on sound but for a kitchen / bedroom I think it’s a great product. 5 preset buttons on top are so handy for radio stations.
