uniti2 with stax srm006ts energiser

Hi. Please can someone confirm which output to use RCA plugs on rear of Uniti2 so I can use my Stax ear speakers and energiser. Re: Line, An1, An2 .... Etc. As I have tried all rear outputs with no success. All sources of music are fine via my floor standing speakers.

Thank you.

You should use the LINE OUT RCA Phonos. This is a fixed level output so it acts like a source into your STAX SRM006T Energiser.  You then adjust volume level for the Earspeakers with the STAX energiser.

Hello Richard

I have been playing with headphones for the past year (as per some of my recent posts) and have been using  the DIN #6 output on my 552 to feed a SimAudio Moon headphone amplifier with a Chord DIN > RCA.

I have recently been bitten by the Stax bug and now have a second headphone amplifier (Stax 353X energizer)) which I need to source an additional cable for.  The Stax has both XLR and RCA inputs and I currently use the RCA inputs and borrow the same cable as above.  I swap between the two amps and only have one amp connected at a time to the 552 until I get a second cable

I will eventually be buying a third party energizer to replace the Stax and will have Chord make a DIN>XLR cable (it only has XLR inputs)..  I am planning on connecting this second headphone amplifier to the DIN #5 output of the 552 as I want both headphone amplifiers (SimAudio and new energizer) connected at the same time to the 552.

Are the DIN #5 and DIN #6 the correct ones to use for connecting two headphone amplifiers at the same time?  They seem like the only choices I have (although it seems that the DIN #4 can be used as well if I wanted three headphone amplifiers connected)

Best

Gregg

PS RCA #8 and 9 are only inputs and not outputs - correct?

Gregg, inputs 4, 5 and 6 on the NAC552 also provide a Record output, so you could use any of them and have headphone amps connected top to all three if you so wished.  Just ensure you have enabled them in socket selection and ensure you do not have unity gain enabled on either sockets 4 or 5 if you use them for a headphone amp.

Thank you Richard

I will have to check my manual to determine how to check unity gain.  Unless it is set to be on by default I will assume it is deactivated.

I now can understand why so many Naim users have an affinity for Stax headphones.  WOW
