ND555 Roadshows
Posted by: ChrisH on 04 June 2018
Just saw this on the Naim Facebook page - 22 ND555 Roadshow evenings in UK between June and November.
Its not yet on the website/Connection section yet, Im sure it soon will be, as will other Roadshows elsewhere.
Only 19 are showing so far, Im just hoping there will be one at my local dealer in the 3 remaining to be announced - getting elsewhere to a dealer for a 6.30pm kick off on a Thursday is not so easy on a working day!
Something to look forward to anyway.

(Did you see what I did there?)

Long before Rumpole too.

True, and I loved those Rider Haggard novels as a teenager, but I would still give the credit to John Mortimer for casting it into the rather more domestic sense that it is used today.
Would love to hear if anyone else has heard the ND555 at any of the roadshows and to hear your thoughts and impressions of the new streamer.

Hi George.
I heard the ND555 at Hi Fi Lounge last week. It was played with a 552/500 combo through Wilson Benesch speakers. It is superb and a dramatic step up from previous Naim streamers. Easy to see why early reviews are so positive. I'll certainly be getting one in the nearish future. Worth getting to a roadshow if you get the chance or a dealer once they have purchased one

Thanks for the feedback John - confirms what I (and others on this thread) have heard at the roadshows so far - definitely a step up in performance.
I’m not familiar with the Wilson Benesch speakers....it must have been interesting to hear this combo compared with your SL2s.
Let us know Once you place your order!

Hi George,
I suspect that the speakers were Wilson Yvette, as these are the speakers that Paul mainly uses in his Naim demonstration room. This would be the same system on which I compared Melco + Dave versus Melco + NDS/555PS.
To the best of my knowledge, he doesn't stock Wilson Benesch, though I may be wrong.
Hope this helps, FT

Wilson Benesh are great sounding German speakers !
Wilson Benesch are based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, which is not, to the best of my knowledge, part of Germany.

It’s known as banter, lightens things a bit, adds a bit of humour.
Your post on the other hand is supercilious at best, no banter, no humour, with the slight odour of malevolence.

Yes, quite. Musicfan took my comment in the spirit in which it was intended. I don’t understand why others feel the need to tell me how to phrase my posts. The Forum can get a bit too po-faced at times. I’d like to think we can all express ourselves how we see fit, within reason.
Read, read!

England is a german country. France is the center of the Universe too. It is what i remember from my school days....
It doesn't take a lot of research to get a good picture of what was done to the country, its population its language and its hierarchy after our defeat in 1066. And as if that wasn't convenient enough to forget, we are "ruled" over by a German monarchy. But Sheffield is definitely in England.
Lets do Sheffxit and give it back to Germany
from nd555 to german roads....after Brexit stop. Somebody said « keep in the thread « ?

Actually, Sheffield is in God's own county of Yorkshire, which is quite a different thing, tha knows.

Yorkshire for England is like Corsica for France ?
British humour again, I'm afraid.
or Yorkshire like « la Bretagne « or « le pays Basque « in France ?
