Am I dreaming.. or was there really an ND555 Roadshow event ?

Posted by: rjstaines on 05 June 2018

I don't take a lot of notice of Facebook, but a few hours ago I got a notification that Event 'ND555 Roadshow...' was deleted.  And 'deleted' it certainly is, I can't access the original posting to discover what it was I'm now no longer missing    There just aren't any clues remaining.

Nor is there any mention of roadshows on the main Naim site or the forum (are there?).

Nope... I must have been dreaming.    Has anyone else had the same dream?

I had the same dream. Naim jumped the gun on the dealers. They will return!

Signals seem to be having one...

Acoustica (Chester) was the one in my dream.

There are loads of them on the Naim Audio Facebook events page.

They featured one at Soundcraft in Orpington. Which company seems to make doors. I'd suggest they try the one in Ashford.

Wow. Something that really gets deleted on Facebook!

They are 22 of them on the connection page of the  Naim website now.

Acoustica one is TBC with no date.

I had an email from acoustica saying that the dates and times have not been confirmed yet, hence the pull

I had a call yesterday from my dealer, Acoustica, to invite me to their ND555 / NDS bake off, with an assurance that, as always, they'll do their best to work out a deal which suits.

There's a certain inevitability about this starting to develop in my mind's eye ...................................... oh dear.

Looking forward to reports of the AnA@StC's event as I cannot be there. We have had another event in our diary for some time and I am not allowed to break it. My argument that hi-fi/music is MORE important than anything else in life did not go down too well.

There is one at Graham’s Hifi today and tomorrow. I’m going at 1 pm tomorrow. Pretty excited ????????

I'll be at the Signal event - looking forward to it!

Audio-T Manchester wasn’t clickable when I looked at the list, I rang them and Mike said he’d start a list of people who’d called, so I have added it to my Calendar.

Give us an update afterwards please [@mention:15504822854866180] will be interested to hear your thoughts.

Unfortunately no roadshow remotely close for me, and a Thursday night makes it a tad more difficult. I'll have to wait until my dealer gets a unit or two of the new product in stock instead.☹️

Resistance is futile, Dave.   Maybe see you there.

Got my formal invitation this morning, and will try to make it across from North Yorks., though it being Dad's Day weekend may complicate matters.

Still, I'm sure Geoff / Pete will prove even more persuasive, if I end up doing a private demo at the shop later!

Well i went today and heard the ND555 in  a setup vs NDS with 555 552/500 and B&W D3's.  all DR'd.  The speakers are hugely different from my Vivid Audio G3's and my 500 is not DR'd so the only real comparison on show was the ND55 and the NDS in this system.  Jason from NAIM was very welcoming, a mine of valuable information and great company.  I must be honest i'd wondered how much more i could expect above and beyond the very excellent NDS but as my man at Grahams put it a few months ago - unless they've pushed the boundaries they wouldnt bother bringing it out.  I think its a stunning piece of kit both visiuall and acoustically.  Im not much of a review writter but there were characteristic both myself and the other lucky guest at 1pm felt stood out.  It unmistakably NAIM.  Musicality is there in bucket loads as you would expect but for me its portrail of the human voice was mesmerising.  It like your favourite well known artists have just had elocution lessons and polished their performances. The level of naturalness and emmotional communication has been crankd uo to eleven.  I'll leave it there.  Book in if you havent already and start making your plans as to how one might arrve in your household without anyone else noticing is my advice   enjoy

Thanks for the review [@mention:15504822854866180]. I think this opinion might be a common theme from the Roadshows over the next months by the sounds of it!
