Yes I can concur, I know close friend who has used it for 20 years without ANY issues and that is really High Standard!!
agree high quality built in classic series
unfrotunately different story for new uniti series
comment from a near 10 year naim user with both classic and new uniti series. still many rooms to improve to claim the new uniti machine and the infrastructure is mature
As a new user of a Uniti Star, bought in May, and a first time Naim buyer, I am surprised to read the comment that the Classic Series is high quality and the Uniti series is "a different story". Would you care to elaborate, or are you simply referring to the Firmware issue which is being dealt with by Naim?

We have always reserved the right to place a member into moderation or to act where we have seen the forum being used as a vehicle to press a particular negative agenda. Recently we have seen a rise in these individuals.
While opinions are good, actively damaging/being negative for whatever the reason isn't fair to other customers of the Naim whom wish to use this space to share their joy, enjoyment and tips for improvement/help - and these customers are now complaining to us direct about the negatives, and that cannot be ignored. Criticism is fine but keep it constructive please.
To those that this post addresses as the overly negative naysayers, you are welcome to stay or not as you wish. I only ask that you remember the reason for our love of music, enjoyment , and consider your actions/words and how they add to the enjoyment/furthermore of our community.

Trevor, I'm honestly not sure how to take these last paragraphs.
I'm now uncertain if I'm regarded as 'an individual' using the forum to 'press a particularly negative agenda' or regarded as a PITA by Naim support and regarded as a 'negative naysayer'; or am I considered to be a customer experiencing issues which are being taken seriously?
I have primarily raised issues of changes to sound quality since firmware 2.3 which in my system do not seem to work as synergistically as before and hence have reduced my enjoyment of the system, as individuals I think we're only asking what's different and why it should cause such wide differences in appreciation of the new sound quality.
Your other points are very valid - I can appreciate that negative comments could potentially affect staff morale, and although I've owned Naim gear since the 90's, I'm a relative newcomer here. Perhaps the problem is that we see the site as a way to discuss perceived issues as well as other aspects of hi-fi/music - a small number of users with similar problems in a thread can give a skewed impression to an outsider browing the forum as by nature the silent majority do not have issues and don't post (this typically happens on user to user support fora which from what you are saying may not be the reason for the site's inception).
I suspect we're all prone to a bit of hyperbole when moaning about things, and I suspect I've done so myself, but I feel on the whole I've tried to be objective in this and other threads, and fair to say that not all classic streamer users liked the latest software for those machines sonically either.
I'll freely admit I don't like negative comments about individuals/support services (unless trying to be constructive) or which talk about consumer law and so forth as I'd like to think we're actually raising something important, which may be even more relevant when new products are designed.
So to conclude, I'm not sure if changes in SQ from firmware updates (which we know can happen) are considered an issue that can be discussed by those customers who experience them or if you are referring to other fixes implemented by firmware changes.

Some may applaud it, I actually find it insulting and dis-respectful.
Trevor, if you wish to denigrate some users who have had less than happy experiences with firmware updates and label them as "bashers" and "pushing a negative agenda" then you have completely mis-judged or chosen to not understand what has happened.
I only ask you "to remember" the reason why I chose to purchase my Naim products in the first place ... it was the sound the product made, a sound like no other.
This "sound" can no longer be relied upon if firmware is changed.
Eoinkav, I very much doubt that Trevor was referring to you in particular. He clearly acknowledges that some of you on here have experienced issues and has also reaffirmed Naim's determination to get to the bottom of it, and ensure that customers get what they paid for. Are you currently in touch with the factory either directly or via your dealer? I've asked them to get in touch anyway, just in case, to help you out.
New Nova in place, from stone cold and the first track it sounds so right and better on all fronts than my old fully run in Nova.
To add I had psyched myself for it to be a disappointment, but also partially wet myself when told Mr Roy George was listening to it prior to shipment ????
I did baseline vs my old Nova before the nice Naim man arrived to swap (still upset I was in an audio when he arrived and gave him no refreshments) he was also a Naim fan ????
I expect it to keep on improving over the weeks.
Very happy and once again thanks to Trevor and his team, to say they pulled out all the stops (an MD, two Directors a Manager within a few days) is an understatement, I am truly bowled over an even more in love with Naim (if that is possible).
Back to listening ...

Same here for my Atom which was delivered today by the very same driver. Seems to have the mojo back. Looking forward to some long sessions again. Also the menus seem snappier on the unit.
So what does all this imply? That there is an actual issue with both your units? Presumably Naim will do an analysis on them back in the factory to see what’s going on. Will we ever know?

That is the plan.
and both of you were happy with your old units on 2.3, right?
I was happy with 2.3.1, then not with anything after , even 2.6.2 or was it 2.6.1 on the old Nova, currently on 2.6.2 new Nova and I would say it is far better than 2.3.1 (and thr old Nova on 2.6), like its supercharged with PRaT and increased detail and gorgeous bass.
2.6.2 ? Did I miss something?

Sorry my error I took that from the Naim app about section, looking at the Nova it is as before 2.6.1.9794.

From memory you liked 2.3 (8574) , and disliked 2.3.1, 2.6 and 2.6.1
If you have 2.6.2 it must be pre-release.

Must be a mental rounding error
...though I think the app version is 5.10 currently ?

In my current app, yes, it says 5.10
Must be firmware fever, sorry the manual firmware Naim gave me I believe was pre 2.3.1 that is what I liked, but the new Nova on 2.6.1 is ????
Good to hear, Obsydian. Enjoy the music,
Best,
Marc

You should revert your new Nova to 2.3 just to see! ???? Then again, that’s probably not a good idea as we know where it might end!!
The app I have for my Star is 2.7
The Naim release app for Android is 2.7 currently but the Naim release app for IOS is 5.10
best

Thanks for that bit of info.
Yes I preferred 2.3 but now I am won over by 2.6.1. Something was missing on the other machine and even 2.3 sq changed quite a bit and had to reboot to get it back this continued with the other firmware to. So much that last weekend I just had to turn the thing off it was so bad. A full power cycle helped bring it back to tollerancem This has more mojo but still has that extra detail. Its much easier on my ears. I am not rushing to turn it down or fiddle or adjust to compensate.
