Remote control for CDX2

Posted by: Crazeenick on 14 June 2018

Just bought a second hand Naim CDX2 - it is 2004 vintage, hence the first version of the CDX2, without digital output.

The remote control (Narcom 3) doesn't work.  I have tried new batteries to no avail.  Any idea what might be wrong?  Can they be repaired?  Or will I have to buy a replacement remote?  I noticed most dealers sell the Narcom 5 remote - will this work with a CDX2 (early version)?

Thanks,

Nick

I can recomend the Naim R-Com, reference remote control... all aluminium (with plastic buttons of course), buttons that light up when you touch the remote, and a luxury feel to die for.

They're quite expensive retail price, but there's a couple of them, brand new, on that  auction site at the moment.  They come with high end stuff like the CD555 - some folk use them, some folk pack them away for when they sell the unit, some folk throw them in the garbage, and others sell them on that auction site.  You could maybe pick up a bargain

PS - CDX2 - nice player, by the way.

A button can get stuck down and lock the remote, check none of then are slightly depressed compared to the rest.

The CDX2 is RC5 so any Narcom, R-com, or Flash remote will work with it.

Make sure you have selected the CD softkey on the remote in order for the CD functions to work.

When a button sticks, if you look carefully you will see it's at an angle with one side lower than the other, pressing the high end should free it off.

Or you could just get up to adjust the volume, you have to to change a CD anyway.
