Questions on Supernait Back Panel Connections

Posted by: Acoustics Guy on 17 June 2018

I have a black faced Supernait which is the previous model to the Supernait 2. I noticed that the power cord and DIN jacks at the rear panel and the power switch are loose at the back panel. Am I correct that this is part of the Naim’s design philosophy to reduce microphonic noise signals? Another item of question is the motorized volume control seems quite slow when using the remote. The volume control was adjusted by hand and I am not sure if this may have damaged the motorized control.  Thank you for your comments.

Yeah the loose bits are by design. Nothing to worry about. My remote is also a bit slow in terms of how the volume responds.

I I remember rightly the volume control is slow to start with then speeds up of you hold your finger down.

On the original Supernait, the DINs are PCB mounted and the PCB is compliantly mounted, so quite normal.
