Naim XPS DR from the EU

Posted by: gsr on 25 June 2018

Hi,

After an XPS DR but not many for sale 2nd hand in the UK.

Am I OK to source from the EU in particular Italy? Wasn't sure about the voltage side of things!

Thanks

Gordon

British and EU mains electricity supply standards have been harmonised; what will work for one EU country will work in any EU country.

The other option is to get a black XPS2 and get it DRed by Naim (and maybe serviced at the same time).

(P.S.  You can't upgrade a Uniti 2 or a Unitiserve with an XPS!).

Thanks for the confirmation. Plan to use it with a 272.

But you need to buy an adapter or change-out the power plug... Make sure you buy a gold-plated & heavy brass one, as a lower quality model may affect your Sound Quality - so do some forum members believe!

Chance is Gordon you'll get an UK unit as in Italy lots of owners prefer to bypass the importer as at least 30% more expensive than where you are.

Some of those travel adapters can be pretty dodgy, or even downright dangerous. There’s no way I’d use one for any fixed appliance like HiFi stuff. Just change the plug.

Please don't use an adaptor.  Change the plug or just get a proper Naim UK power lead (or even a Powerline or Powerline Lite).

I've a spare Powerline Lite that I'll use!
