Uniti Software Update - 2.6.1 topic - but about something completely else

In the topic ‘Uniti Software Updade – 2.6.1' Naim attached few photographs of the current Uniti range. The pictures clearly show elements of the ‘user interface’ on all units screens which are not available under current software. One looks like upnp screen suggesting that ‘albums’ view can be displayed as well as different ‘now playing’ screens which shows the art and song information such as its title. How to read this? The thing is that these looks very attractive (I would love to be able to use Star’s screen and remote controller to select albums etc or have an option to display a better ‘now playing’ screen) but since are not available could be a little bit misleading?

I actually rushed to install the new update only to find out that it does not do anything to enhance the user experience but only bug fixes (well more important but since I do not experience any of these bugs...). I hope that such enhancements of the user interface are still on the table and one day we will have option to choose them.

That may be it - I don't think any of those displays are currently available.

This has been discussed before they are prerelease images, the UI got changed before shipping. The really should be updated as they do lead you to believe the Unitis can display liek that.

Apart from the album artwork - which can be shown on the screens with current fw - it's almost impossible to tell what else is shown due to such low resolution, but the product pictures were pre-production and on early pre-production fw anyway (IIRC as has been discussed elsewhere some months back). So I'm not sure how this picture can be what Woj is referring to. It must be some other pictures, but I can't see them anywhere.

Two of those images on the left show a display layout that's not on the units. I think that is why he is questioning it as its on a link to the latest firmware and could be misleading.

OK, well if it's in anyway misleading customers then I agree that it would be good to update or at least adjust the pictures accordingly. I'll run it past HQ...

You’re right that it’s been covered before, but the displays in question are:

Nova - appears to be showing a list of albums or artists.

Star - showing cover art and details. I think this is what is the “now playing info” screen on all the devices.

Atom - this looks like a variant on the Star’s display.

From that I’d say it’s the Nova that’s showing functionality not carried into production. The other two seem down level (also somewhere there’s a picture of the volume change display showing a circle round the number - I remember seeing that at Bristol last year, but not on my (early) Nova

Hi, sorry for late response. I was away the whole evening. Yes, I had this picture in mind. It personally didn't mislead me but rather raised some hopes on the basis that if Naim is still using these images then such options will be introduced.
