Rip failed files - How to remove them?
Posted by: Core_user on 02 July 2018
I have got rip failed files in the Uniti Core after ripping CDs. Unity Core will stop when it plays these files and annoys me. I need to disconnect its power in order to resume its function. Now, I stop listening to those albums which contain one or more failed files.
Hope to find a way to delete those failed files?
My Core continues to play an album except for tracks that failed to rip. I would drop Naim an email, I presume you are on the latest firmware.

Thanks Gazza. The firmware is the latest version and mine does not skip failed file. I thought Naim would read this forum and provide solution. I will send Naim an email.
No you cannot rely on Naim reading the forum, they do from time to time, but best to call or email them.
Naim support may have an answer, but you could delete an album that failed to rip properly, give the CD a good wash and careful dry and try ripping it again.
But I agree with Gazza, my Core just ignores the errors and plays the track as best it can.

I had this problem on a UnitiServe. The cd could be deleted via n-Serve but would always reappear.

That's not the same problem!
On a Core if you delete an album using the Naim app, it does always disappear. The OP is explaining that his Core stops when it gets to a track that didn't rip properly. It shouldn't do that and you can't delete specific tracks with the app.

We both have files we can't delete…
Richard your problem if I understand it is that with US there is a facility to delete a rip of a cd in nserve but it doesn't work for you whereas the OP's problem is how to delete some tracks from a rip of a CD in a Core without deleting the rest. Naim do not provide the facility to do this. That is why these are different problems.
