Core Backup

Just bought a Core.  It will be used to both rip a bunch of CDs and also to store downloads.  

My question is this.  If i connect an extermal drive to the Core and run a backup does it back up both the Music folder and the Dowloads folder or just the Music folder?  Corollary question is will it Restore both or just the Music folder if a restore is necessary at some point?

the answer to these questions will tell me what size drive i need to buy and also if i need a separate backup strategy for the Downloads drive.
