NAC32.5 with CD player

Posted by: dolorem on 08 July 2018

Might seam like a stupid question but with equiptment this old and so many combinations I thought better safe than sorry. I want to get a micomega cd player into my NAC32.5. I assume I just chuck it into the tuner socket but what cable do I need RCA to DIN obviously but is this just a standard cable 4 pin or 5 pin. Then I note comments about buying CD input cards ect. Very very lost Please help. Note I'm a very simple sole

Yup, using the tuner input is a good idea.  No need to NA326 cards unless you want to use one of the phono inputs - but then you have BNC connectors to contend with...

a Chord or Naim RCA phono to DIN5 interconnect is what you want.  See the FAQ:

https://forums.naimaudio.com/t...cs-and-interconnects

p.s. if you aren't running  turntable then it's a good idea to "pull" any phono cards on Phono 1 or 2 and keep them in the box.

Flashback or Gotham cables

I'd avoid adapters

I am running a turntable as the main input. Vinyl is my main source of music. However I do also want to run a DAC and a CD player through the pre amp. I'm planning on running the DAC through the tape input and the CD player through the tuner. The topic of cards intrigues me a little. As does the upgrade of the amp using Ryan Sound Labs cards. has anyone any experience of either.

PS the amps already sound amazing

Discussion of unauthorised modifications (which includes 3rd party cards), falls outside of forum AUP.
