Oppo UDP-205 as transport

Intend to use the Oppo UDP-205 as transport connecting to 272/250DR. As the 272 is single ended (DIN), would it be better to use RCA to RCA instead of the XLR/RCA (Oppo) to DIN on the 272? Thanks.
If you're using it as a transport then why not go digital (via S/PDIF) into the 272. If you're going to use the analogue outputs then as you say, stick with the RCA outputs but go RCA to DIN (preferable on the Naim kit) between Oppo and 272.

thanks for the reply James. Will be getting the RCA to DIN and probably, XLR to DIN between the Oppo and 272.
No worries but I'm a bit confused what you are doing. If you just want the analogue outputs from the Oppo then go RCA from the Oppo to DIN on the 272. Don't use the XLR outputs.
If taking the digital output then an RCA to RCA S/PDIF cable will do the job.

Yes, I'm confused too. If by "transport," you mean you will utilize the 272's DAC instead of the DAC in the oppo, then I agree with James N, because you'll be wanting to transfer a digital signal for the 272 to convert.
If you intend to let the oppo DAC do the work, then you'll want an RCA from the oppo to the DIN on the 272.
Yes I would think the DAC in the 272 is better than the Oppo DAC,so go digital out from Oppo to digital in on the 272.I have tried a Hugo 1 and 2,also a Dave in my system, but using my Core as a source, rather than Oppo...I did not keep any of them, preferred just using the 272 internal DAC.Sure, the Dave was better, but not THAT much better,to justify the price.I just thought, maybe he will be using SACDs,so wants the Analog signal?
I used quite a humble LG bluray player as a transport into my SU (think its the same DAC as the 272). Have to say the results were really good. Only retired it because in practice I just ripped to NAS and streamed.
thanks for all the advices. I now have the respective cables ready and will set it up next week.
If you have an OPPO player & you might like to play MQA there is a firmware update for the UDP 205:
