Service intervals

Naim Service dept tell me that my 2007 CD555 and 2008 PS555 (No, I can't figure that out, either...) have never been in to them for a service. Do they need it? What will it cost? What difference will it make? Is it worth it?

PSUs usually need a service every 15 years for "Black" boxes. Naim or your local dealer should confirm.

i don't think CD players have a regular service interval.

Naim CDPs need to have their powersupply caps checked and if necessary replaced every 15 years or so... no different from anything else really

Naim only recommends that CD players are serviced when the mech shows signs of trouble or failure.  This is mainly because the mech in a CD player doesn't like to be shipped around too much..
