Hi all not sure if this is old news but soon to be released is the Chromecast audio dongle with now Roon endpoint implementation at 24bit/96kHz. Could this be the answer to legacy users?

Can I ask what kit you are using it with and your opinion on sound quality.

I have a new unity atom  so have  no need for it in my main system  so only using it on my portable system in the bedroom it's feeding a Pure Jongo wireless speaker. Powered by the same speakers usb port.

I used to use the Chromecast in my second system feeding my Arcam irDac iI and it sounded pretty good so I'd imagine it still would with Roon. I uodated to an Allo USBridge though so I could get Roon and Spotify. Shame this didn't come sooner would have saved me some caah. No doubt some will pick holes in it for pure snobbery of it being a £30 device so how could it compare to my 2k or more streamer but in my opinion there is nothing wrong with it all.

NIce addition but can't see it offers anything for me until they/Qobuz work it out.

They are activley working with another streaming partner, but keeping who it is close to their chest. My bets on Qobuz. or Deezer, they have ruled out Spotify, GPM and Apple.
