Football season 2018/19
Posted by: Kevin-W on 15 July 2018
Now the World Cup's over, it's time to turn our attention to the domestic leagues in the UK, Europe, South America and elsewhere...
So here's a thread for all matters pertaining to the 2018/19 season - whether you follow one of the giants like Barca, Real, Juve, Man City or Corinthians; or a non-league side.
All are welcome - and let's hear from followers of smaller clubs, like Harrogate Railway, Sutton United or Tottenham Hotspur.

Any word on Yarmolenko? Looked like he may have torn his achilles.
FA Cup 4th qualifying round yesterday so BBC staff basically have a day off from reporting abc updating.
City running riot with Burnley .Loved the fact the 5 goals where scored by 5 different players.Great having KDB back and he looked good coming off the bench.Joe Hart got a great reception coming back.

Should know later today or tomorrow, but it does look like an Achilles.

Six months at least!

Actually, our white shirts looked much cleaner than your lot.
So pleased for Mesut Ozil last night he has his detractors but he captained the team with a performance that really did his talent justice.
Again we were not great at the back and let in a very useful Leicester side too many times in the first half a more experienced side would have beaten us before the first half was over.
Emery needs to tighten that up do that against Liverpool and the ball will be in the back of the net before our full backs get back over The halfway line.
Lucas Torreria was fantastic again last night he has a bit of Ngola Kante about great signing.
The deep joy of being in the 1st round of the FA Cup for the first time in 4 years.
My Saints desperate to win at home this afternoon. Eeeek!
Best wishes for Glen Hoddle. Gulp.
Hope West Ham hang on at Leicester - Last 15 mins at the moment.....Come on you Hammers !
More woe for Southampton and Newcastle.Well pleased for Brighton at home to Wolves. The seagulls picking up the points with 2 back to backs.Pompey still top of the league but Peterborough closing the gap.

It sounds serious..... just viewed a picture of him at BT sport this morning doing some ‘ Keep upps’‘ and looked in good shape..... sounds like a ‘heart issue....
lets hope he pulled through
Apparently responding to treatment, but still very serious. Best wishes, a good guy in the game
I see the helicopter of the Leicester City owner has crashed into the car park beside the ground They are not sure if he was on it at the time.

Just been looking at the TV pictures, it doesn’t look good....

His family have confirmed the owner was on board.
A Brighton supporter also collapsed & died at their home game.
An awful day for domestic football.
So pleased to see Bournemouth going from strength to strength. Half-way to the PL 'safety' points total and 28 games still to play. Eddie Howe is one of the game's good-guys.

Totally agree Mike
He comes over as a thoroughly likeable Guy on post match.Like you well pleased with Bournmouth getting the points.can 't see any relegation battle as the bottom 3 are pretty dire at the moment.
City away at Spurs tonight.Hard to call.Think City might shade it......Come on City
Looks like “Business as usual” so far
Very nice City result and the 3 points we always do well in London town
Really good result for City. That Wembley pitch looked awful. Not worthy of such an important Premier League game.
Apparentley the the FA won’t be investigating this dive, which led to a penalty.
The only explanation I can think of, is the dive was so late, long after Idrissa Gueye made the (legitimate) tackle, it was deemed a different phase of play.

I thought it was a perfectly good tackle.... can’t understand why the commentator or pundits didn’t seem to notice...
Great game at the Dildodrome today - especially the second half, which saw four goals go in.
Burnley were woeful today - what's happened to them? They used to be so resolute in defence. Now they just seem to resort to rough tackles and Spuds-style cheating. I can see them going down if they continue like this. The game should have been 6 or 7 nil to us, it was only due to typical (and catastrophic) lapses in concentration by WHU that they managed to get anything for this match.

Almost as good as Louis Saha's fantastic dive against Arsenal last Sunday.
