Good morning all.
I have been offered a NAP300 at a very attractive price, so I was thinking as vinyl is my one and only source(and will remain that way), should I swap NAP 250.2 remove supercap from superline and sell that, run the superline from 552 and bring in the NAP 300. Now, due to space constraints on the rack I would need to remove 2 existing boxes (hence 250.2 and supercap being removed) its a quandary and I’m wondering what the thoughts are from the forum, am I unhappy with existing sound? No, it’s great, but we have all been there and know what’s it like when you get a good chance to own something different!
thanks as always

In my experience, in the source, pre-amp, power amp hierarchy, moving a step upstream generally beats doing so further downstream. In which case I would not be so tempted to downgrade the phono stage to upgrade the amp. So try to keep the Supercap on the Superline, if you can, and go for the NAP300...

Thanks Richard for the response, most appreciated as always. I had the obvious nagging doubt about removing the supercap from the superline, and I have lived with the combination for a few years, then wham! My friendly dealer rings up and tempts me!! I have tried to rework the system rack setup to see if it’s possible, but it’s looking unlikely I can restructure to get the additional box in. I may just stick as I am, like I said I’m happy with the combination, I’m sure a 300 would bring more BUT at a significant “rack restructuring”

I agree with the above thoughts. You don't know how good vinyl can be if your LP12 or alternative TT is routed through a Suoerline/Supercap/552 and then into a 300.
I had for some time my Superline powered off the 552. Then took the plunge and put in the Supercap. What a difference. There is a school of thought that using the Supercap to power the Superline gives the 552 an easier time.

I echo the message to keep the Superline/Supercap. Consider upgrading the 250.2 to 250DR. When I did that, I was very pleased. (Disclaimer: I later swapped the 250DR for a 300, but I certainly did not downgrade my source.)
Down the road you can rethink your room to provide a second rack/stack, or just stop there and enjoy the music.
