Roon on Nova

No - the Nova is a Roon endpoint in itself - Chromecast is not involved. Works beautifully for me. It's a while since I set it up but as far as I can recall Roon just found it on my network and plays to it.

Same question here! Spotify appears on the input screen but Roon doesn’t, it’s on the naim app tho

Hmmm, I thought as much. I have a problem then, mine only shows up on CC. Everything is cat6 connected so, Im open to ideas please...

My Nova is running 2.1 fw, is this the latest?

So far I have rebooted router and Mac but its just the same, nothing except CC.

Roon is fully up to date.

Any ideas?

Interestingly, just noticed that the latest firmware is 2.6.1

My app says mine is up to date 2.1???

How is the Nova connected to your network?  Can it stream off Tidal and Spotify ok?

Connected with cat6. Yes it streams those faultlessly.

I think it because it is not running the latest FW, and it wont let me update it. It says its up to date. Its on 2.1

If you are looking for a Roon input that you can select on the Nova, there isn’t one. Once you have set up a Roon Core, it should find your Nova and allow you to select it as an endpoint. 

So look for the nova on the Roon app not Roon on the Naim app.

Hi, I am looking on the audio section of the Roon menu, and the Nova is only available via Chromecast. No endpoint. I know there is no actual Roon input on the Nova 

You need later firmware to enable Room Ready status. Looks like it's not connecting to Naims servers if it's not seeing an update. I would drop Naim support an email asap. You could try resetting to factory defaults to see if that helps, Naims firmware is a little delicate at times and gets itself muddled. 

I think you right. I will call Naim today. ????

All sorted! Spoke to a very helpful Flynn at Naim today and he sent me the 2.6.1 FW and I loaded it manually with my laptop.

There is a known issue with some units not accepting automatic updates, seems mine is one of them!!

There is one in the Naim app as well.

Yep, seen that but it wasn't there before
