Cd

Hi. I'm a new member here. I am potentially looking at demoing a naim supernait2 and some suitable speakers and CD player. I'm not really into streaming. I note that Naim only make the one CD player. Is. that good enough for the supernait2? Or should I be looking out for a used cdx2? I would want a fairly recent one as would worry about reliability of an old player. I live just down the road from Naim dealer Billy Vee so would be getting the kit from there apart from the cd if I go the cdx2 route.

Google stereophile Rega Apollo review.

I would certainly be demoing this with the SN if I were you.

Well the Apollo is certainly significantly cheaper than a used cdx2. How would it compare to the cdx2? Is it likely to ge good enough in an sn2 system?

Have a listen. Rega is a good brand and it will be supported with a full warranty. If you did a straw poll not many use CDX2 without a PS. I did love my CDX2 but wouldn’t be buying one in 2018.

Fwiw I have just received back my old Saturn from a full factory service, indeed it is very good - I would not swap it with a bare CDX.

Possible a Saturn betters Apollo but no idea how much really, how I wish it came with DIN rather than rca

I understand if toploaders can't match into an existing rack

Signals have an ex-dem Saturn on their site at the moment.
