Is it a new one??? If it is you will end up with a smile like a Cheshire cat....once run in ... after about 3 weeks.

My 250DR is on the way to me, and it was the dealer's demo for a couple of years.  Gently used Naim can be  a great value!

OMFG I utterly love it!! my PMC 23’s have just come to life. I thought they were a bit lacking in bass. I stand corrected. This is it, years ago I dreamed cdx2/282/250 I think my 272 with 250dr is that

Enjoy, I too upgraded from a 200 to a 250DR and also had a big smile. I haven't looked back since.

Spooky, I have the same - upgraded to a 272 + 250DR to feed the 20.23s. I'd stay off here tho; the nudges to get an XPSDR were overwhelming, so I did; it lifts it all significantly. A 555 was a step too far tbh. Maybe later.

Enjoy it to the full, it's a great combination.

Hehehe yeah No power until I have paid off my nap 250dr

Stephanie -

Congrats on the new amp. I went from a 200 to a 250dr awhile back - not the tremendous improvement at first, but then went 202 to 282 -WOW- . Definitely found the missing bass also (harbeth 30.1). I would guess the 272 to be close to 282, so I'm sure you are enjoying it tremendously. Just like you, my pieces are dealer demo -far more affordable, and truth be told, probably closer to what they should be - here in the U.S.,dealers are shrinking (disappearing) and price increases have been huge the last few years.

Congratulations the 250 is a great black box, enjoy

Congrats on a 250DR. The 250-1 that I've had for about 5 years is on the way back from Audio Plus as a recapped & upgraded 250DR (along with the same treatment for my HiCap and a recapped 282). I can't wait to hear the improvements.

Racetripper-

Sounds like you are running the same system as I am. You should be very happy with it. My sources are nat 05 tuner, cd5 of some vintage w/flatcap 2  and lp 12/lingo2 ekos, kore, circus and krystal cart, prefix - all spewing forth *L* from harbeth m 30.1, naca 5 wire, and mostly static display of tandberg tcd 340 and rtr td20.

I know exactly what you mean: just had my 250.2 upgraded to DR and... (words fail me, but I shall suffice with 'WoW'!).

My 250DR upgrade is home, along with my recapped 282 and HiCapDR upgrade. I'm listening to some high-res digital audio and very impressed so far. The real test begins later after I pick up my upgraded phonostage this evening.

Enjoy this amp. It is my "dream in the drawer" .

The upgrade from the version NAP 250 to NAP 250 DR, more or less, how much it would cost ?. Could be possibile to ship the amp directly to Naim, please ?

Cheers, David | Italy

Cost of the upgrade is around £1200 not sure if you can send direct to Naim though, nornally through dealer channels.

The price does not include a service and if your 250.2 is over 10years old you may have to factor this in.

So is it worth upgrading the old 250.2 or buying a used 250dr then sell on your 250.2 thats something to consider.

My cost for the 250DR upgrade + recap service was $1616 US + shipping. My 250-1 was manufactured in 2005. My dealer handled everything. All I had to do was drop it off in the box and pick it up again when it came back.

My 282 is from 2008, and my HiCap is from 2010 (which also got DR upgrade). I went ahead and had everything serviced, including the NAPSC.

Good evening, it is a bottomless pit I suppose.Thank you for having shared with me your stories. The "Chrome Bumper" and "Olive" NAP250 units cannot be upgraded. NAP 250 Units in the current design (2002 to 2015) can be done
