There are probably obvious answers but can anyone tell me why (how) there are 3 rip music folders HQ/MQ/LQ and a downloads folder when browsing the Core on the network but only the downloads and MQ folders contain any music.
The downloads folder contains all my hi res stuff which came originally as downloads which have been loaded via USB and the MQ stuff is CD rips.
How does music get "loaded" into the HQ folder? Would that be a SACD rip or similar?
There are some HDCD rips but they all show in MQ. as said anything higher than cd quality is in downloads, but there are inconsistent results with metadata / artwork
Samantha Fish WAV in downloads at 48/48 shows correct artist / title / track order but no cover (there is a .jpg file in the folder).
Aisles WAV in downloads at 44/44 shows correct band, track order but no cover in one entry which is duplicated lower in the album list by the album with a cover but in an unknown artist folder.
Roger Waters FLAC in Downloads at 192/192 with correct metadata / artwork
Robert Plant FLAC In Downloads at 48/48 has correct artwork but incorrect track running order (even after correction).
Is this par for the course with the core and are there any (simple) solutions to the issues?
Could hi res stuff be transferred from downloads to HQ folder or would that break something?
Has the "full" HDCD data been ripped? and how would I know?

The HQ folder is not used and so far as I am aware never has been.
I don't think HDCD counts as hi def
The albums with incorrect info is as a result of the files not the core, open the album of files in M<P3tag and check the tags in there correct where necessary
Any artwork must be in the top level of the album folder and should be called 'folder'

Thanks Gary, I opened Rob Plant with MP3Tag in downloads and it showed the correct track order, which i confirmed by playing on PC (media monkey) end / start of key tracks e.g. tr 9 Standing leads directly on to tr 10 Black Dog.
However I have recently relabelled track titles in downloads from numbers 1-9 then 1-6 to 1-15, which has made no difference to the playing order shown on the core and mp3tag shows the titles as 1-15 but track 1-9 (disk 1) and 1-6 (disk 2) regardless of the fact that this was a single download file. When browsing the downloads folder the track order appears correct but displayed in the app incorrect.
can i just rename .jpg's in the downloads folder to ensure display?

In terms of the track order is there any other files in the folder, just go with the audio files and folder.jpg remove and .bin files or .cue files.
In MP3tag check there are no additional tags that could change track order, I am not sure what to be honest.
Track order will be from the track numbers tag, not from the title or file name.

The file structure goes back to the old days and original format when developed for the HDX.
the LQ folder I believe is used for MP3 files, and the HDX has the ability to make an MP3 copy of the rips, so they would be in the LQ folder.
All music ripped on the core will be placed into the MQ folder, and any other music will go into the download folder.

no hidden files as far as I can see, the track order in the downloads folder when displaying # on the columns bar is 1-9 followed by 1-6, I cannot find a way of displaying disc number in the folder view of file explorer as in mp3tag.
