Chord Hugo TT Interconnects

Posted by: stimmy on 20 August 2018

Hi Guys,

Looking for a bit of advise please (excuse my ignorance) but I've just brought a second hand Chord Hugo TT and waiting for delivery but I want to order some leads so I can get up and running asap, will the standard leads that come with the TT allow me to connect my Naim CD5 xs upto the TT (BNC to BNC digital coax) and then a set of leads RCA to RCA to connect TT to my 152xs pre-amp.

1) Am I correct in thinking I need a BNC to BNC digital coax lead and a set of RCA to RCA??

2) If the leads provided are not the above will the standard supplied leads let me get connected?

3) What sensible priced leads would you recommend, max £200.00 per set

kind regards

I'd avoid a Mayware adaptor if possible. You may as well just go straight into the RCA phono sockets rather than add an extra adaptor.  Better by far to use a proper RCA Phono to DIN interconnect.

Thanks Richard, I will be buying a 5 pin din to RCA ????

Whilst my Chord Chrysalis RCA - Din cables were getting fixed back when I had the option of both Din and RCA on my 282 I used some RCA-RCA Linn silver cables I had and found adding the mayware improved things perhaps there was a problem with the Linn cables but I found the RCA inputs on my 282 with them to add a hum that the din adapter removed.

Of course if you are buying new or even used cables then buy properly terminated cables but if you are incorporating an existing cable then try both ways and trust your own ears with and without the din adapter they only cost a few pounds.

Thanks Bob the builder, I’ve had a look on eBay and struggling to find something that takes my fancy, I might wait for a while but because I mainly use headphones at the moment I might just buy a Bnc to Bnc digital coax, that way I assume I can still listen just via flatcap, CD player, tt & headphones only for now then connect to my amp at a later date

I've tried rca/din Flashback UK cables from my ordinary Hugo to 152xs with good results

They do some good digital cables too

Really way below budget, perhaps there's better out there, afterall a very expensive Hugo TT deserve quality

Sorry MPW, but directing a member towards a specific item for sale is very much contrary to forum rules.  I have removed the post.

have started a new thread for my questions so i go out of this thread and wish good luck to Stimmy !

I have a comparable setup:  decent DVD player -> Hugo -> Supernait

I use the Chord Clearway coax 1.5m and Chord Shawline RCA/RCA and I am enjoying it immensely.
