Identifying Pre amp out - 4 pin Din pinouts

Posted by: ROOG on 21 August 2018

Hello, can anyone help me with what the pin out pattern is for the 4 pin din pre-amp output on a Superuniti please?

I have found  images of the back of other naim products which show the pin outs identified, but none for the SU.

Would I be right in thinking that all Naim 4 pin pre amp outs follow the same pattern?

My understanding is, going clock wise from the locating notch at 12 oclock:   'ch1',  'nc', '-ve', then 'ch2'

I would appreciate your knowledgeable assistance.

Roog, yes that's correct - the same for all 2 channel Naim pre-outs/amp on DIN4.

Thank you Richard, since I posted I have found a few more pictures of Naim back panels some of which do show the 4 pin-out din details.

I can see that  Naim have a system going on here, universal 4 pin output whether it is used for one cable combined L+R or two cable, separate L+R connections depending on the power amp.

Interesting that some devices have the little pin-out graphic ( The 272 does) but that others including recent pre-amps & SU don't.

Many thanks for your help

I think it sometimes a question of available space as to whether the graphic is there or not.
