Let’s prattle PRAT

For fun, how do you describe the elements of PRAT for different types of music? I generally go by the feel and emotion. Do I tap my toe? Want to dance, go teary eyed. Is this the mythical PRAT?
I think it is just the flow of the music a very good album for PRAT is Fleetwood Mac - Rumours especially the 45rpm remaster - Don't Stop just sounds so good through my Olive amp.
For me it is the rhythmic drive - combined with micro rhythmic details - with convincing timing.

That's odd. About one percent of the cd's I streamed into my Nova sounds awfull. Fleetmac Rumours is certainly one of them. Played into the Naim XS it"s ok.
I think the Tusk album is far superior.... especially the 2015 remaster try it.

It isn’t odd really it’s just different media and in my limited experience Olive era amps have a lot more PRAT than both the black box and uniti range I’ve owned. Pair an Olive amp with an LP12 and play an all Analogue remaster and you have prat to burn.
So, is it the album - i.e. the music - that has PRaT? Or the system that adds it? And maybe maximum PRaT if both?

Regale yourself.
I haven’t read it - so you can.
That’s a great little thread and linked to really good article https://www.stereophile.com/co...thm-dynamics-letters
Great quote about not focusing on the detail of the bark on a tree and enjoying the beauty of the forest.
