Left - Right Channel Swapped After Uniti Core Resuming from Standby Occasionally

Posted by: tmtsui on 31 August 2018

I am using BNC to connect my Core to my Dac.   There are times that the L and R channel are swapped when the Core is resumed from standby.

To put the Core back to normal, I need to press the power button on the Core to turn the device OFF, and then wait for a few seconds to turn it ON again.

It happened 7 to 8 times since I purchased the unit 2, 3 months ago.

Wonder if any Core user encountered the same problem.

Is it a software bug or hardware issue ?

How odd! If the Core is doing this, I’m sure Naim would want to fix it, so I would get in touch with support and make them aware of it.

Frankly speaking, I am very disappointed towards Naim's support.   I have another post about Core not playing music after resume from standby.    I sent an email directly to one of the supporting guy about a month ago.   Nothing heard from him at all, not even a message about receiving my email.   That's why I am posting my two problems here, hoping that someone may have an idea about what's happening in my unit.

This is not a problem I have seen reported before and it is quite hard to imagine how it happens. I suspect that if you do get to talk to a Naim support person, the only advice they could give is 1) Try a factory reset and if that doesn't resolve it, 2) talk to your dealer.

And I suspect this is the same for your other problem.

I haven't myself used the Naim Uniti support which Naim have outsourced, although I've read many posts that either complain about or praise it, but in general with all of Naim support I would say if you don't get a reply to an email within one day, you aren't going to get one and it's better then to phone them and talk to someone.

Pick up the phone, that's the best way to get a response. The number is at the bottom of this page.
