New Android App - still cannot go back in upnp folder

Posted by: gert on 06 September 2018

Somewhat disappointing...  In the new app version for android the following problem still exists:

Is it really so difficult to fix this bug? I did not report this issue myself, but I had read here in the forum that other users did. So I am waiting for a fix since some months now.

Is there a trick that heals the behaviour?

(My devices: An old Nexus 5 smartphone with Android 6.0.1; Superuniti as streamer)

Same here. Annoying behaviour, which should be easy to fix......but I guess Naim make great amplifiers and sloppy software. Discovery of my Nova is very hit and miss. Also the "stop stream" on radio does not appear on the Nova......volume control is awkward to say the least. Unless I need multiroom I generally use other control apps now.

I used to get this problem (and reported it on the Beta forum), but it now works OK for me.

Tested on Android 5.01 and Android 6.0.

Same problem still exists here, and I have also reported it on the beta forum. It has been acknowledged as a bug, I hope this will get tracked down and fixed for the next beta.

Frustrating isn't it!? I've had this issue too & found if you go back far enough to the finding rooms screen then go back into it, you can then navigate back up the directory tree.

Had the app jumping backwards & forwards between two consecutive tracks until I switched from list view to full screen view?

Screen also decided to jump to one side too:

Only finds my UPnP servers half of the time.

POS android app...

The problem of the screen jumping sideways when browsing a UPnP Server (when the number of icons displayed side-by-side decreases by 1) is known, and I'm told that's being worked on, but that seems different from your asymmetric screen - is the effect you get routine or a one off?

However I've been told that the priority is getting the UPnP connections (Media Player and Media Server) to be reliable, followed by the UPnP page navigation issues.

For people who have trouble with one Android device, it's well worth trying a different one (Android or iOS).

The jumping backwards & forwards between two consecutive tracks has been another long-standing issue that has been reported many times but is very difficult to reproduce.

I've mentioned on here before and was told it was a known fault.  It's not difficult to reproduce though - just select track view and wait for a couple of tracks.

That, so far has been a one off since the latest update....

Opening post, same issue for me when using Android and have to close the app I've just got use to it now.

Looks like the software team have bigger issues with the ND555 firmware !!!

I gave up with it all, and very reluctantly bought an ipad

Same here, but since have got rid of all my Android and Windows 10 devices and changed to Apple one of the best things I have ever done.
