What happened to "stop stream" for iRadio in Naim App?
Posted by: Chris Bell on 06 September 2018
When I listened to iRadio on my NDS there was a "stop stream" button on the Naim App. Now that I'm running the ND555 that option has vanished from the app. How exactly do I stop iRadio short of switching sources or turning off the streamer? Am I missing something?
I was not aware of the stop stream in the App,but I just hit mute on the remote,
Sigh..this happened to the Nova as well vs. the SuperUniti - my Muso QB still has stop stream. I am at a loss to explain it, and further, when I try to put the Nova in standby it will start up again, so I have to mute and then go to standby or just mute. I do miss “Stop Stream”

That’s odd - my Nova goes to sleep when I press the button and stays that way until I press again and it wakes up.
Much as I thought I’d find a no “stream off” annoying I don’t, I just put it in standby as that’s what it would do itself if left 15 minutes with no stream playing .
Stop Stream is still showing on my iOS v5.11 & NDX, so I suspect its product specific.
A new streamer feature - Atom and Nova are the same - you have to switch input , mute or turn the thing off on these.
I, too, find this omission extremely irritating. If you use the mute button instead you are still getting the stream, just not hearing it. Sometimes the only way is to go to another input, play something, then clear the queue. I reported it to Naim some time ago in the hope that they would fix it, but no joy so far.
This was one of first things I moaned about after getting my Atom. It's ridiculous that you can stop it as soon as you switch to internet radio it starts to play your last station no option for it not to and then no chance of stopping it unless you switch it off or input. Every other app I've had that allows internet radio has this feature. Another reason why I just use Roon ot chromecast iplayer for everything and try and avoid the app as much as possible.
