Naim App / IOS 5.11 and Android 2.8

I must say so far the app on both IOs and Android is solid, my preference is always Android and it is great to see whoever Naim has hired has brought the Android app aesthetically to a polished state, everything is a little bigger as well which helps.

Discovery is quicker, very quick, I like the lobby look of all items discovered, rather than before opening the Naim app fired up the Nova and then would struggle.

Noticed though when in the room screen, if I click the Nova, the usual inputs screens pops up momentarily, then back to rooms, then I have to click the Nova again.

I still get my loud hiss (results in a loud pop), but now the discovery speeds up closing and reopening the app/Nova, to me this is still an issue with the mute circuitry.

Woke up to another Android update of 3.8MB dated as the 8th no changelog, new guy at Naim must be burning to midnight oil to iron out issues

I reckon he/she is an Android user not a shiny Apple sheep.

I have both ios and android and am now very pleased with both. My other half has also stopped swearing at the two apps! Rich

I have both also, but prefer Android and must say for once it is a more polished version than the IOS equivalent.

I am using the iOS version on a iPad mini. This works very reliable since months. The android app am I using with a nexus 5 phone. This has improved with the last update being quicker. But don't you have the issue that I have described in the thread https://forums.naimaudio.com/t...-back-in-upnp-folder ?

my naim device: Superuniti.

Back to Android fulltime, iPad Mini (expensive remote) relegated, latest update remains the same, discovery is superb, layout smooth, but the same initial enter the room then kicked back out to the lobby, trivial compared to past issues.

Even multi tasking on my mobile, the Naim app even if I close and reopen, within 2 secs back in and able to control the Nova, outstanding !!!

I'm not sure if it's just me but I no longer have the option to display the track list. The button with 'lines' where the Prev/Next/Shuffle/Repeat etc buttons are simply isn't there!

I'm using Android 2.8

So allot of listening and using the app, is solid but still occasionally it gets lost/confused whilst playing a track (precursor is flip flopping tracks in a playlist) then just hangs for around 30 - 60 secs playing the last track (in this time even the remote cannot correct matters - as in pause/stop/etc..), eventually you get the irritating catch up, as in whatever you pressed like a time delay catches up.

Discovery is still superb and so far no pops/hiss coming out of standby (fingers crossed).

Well done APP team, keep it up  just link it to Alexa and we will be best mates (Alexa Routine - Dehumidifier off, Mobile to do not disturb,  Ring and Arlo to priority alerts, living room lights 10% warm, heating 22 C, Nespresso brew, Play favorites Naim Nova )

Sigh........  Would be so nice if the "new guy" would tap his programming skills and bring us an android version of n-Serve!
