NDX2 with Kudos T505

Posted thoughts on NDX2 thread, but thought this was worth it’s on post

Spent 4 hours at [@mention:1566878603906177] yesterday – the main focus was all things LP12 with some other forum members

However, I did arrive slightly earlier than I had planned so went in to the other demo room to listen again to the NDX2 having heard it a week before at the ND 555 launch

NDX2 was like listening to different equipment – focus and soundstage we deeper and more focused

Played the same track I a choose on the NDX2 demo Genesis Firth of Forth which is a track I know and love – Tony Banks on piano solo was detailed and had an edge – Rutherford bass line was really focused and driven PG vocal’s precise

Rest of the NAIM system was 252,SCDR, 250DR

But what took my breath away were their new demo pair of Kudos Titans T505, been working for a couple of days, the music focus just grabbed you and bought you in love the NAIM and Kudos pairing and T808 as my all time great but these 505’s soar!

What a system and the NDX2 was on full song with out a PSU! I can only Imagine what adding a 555 could achieve

asked Phill to put the grilles on the T505 which I thnk makes them,

PS these are not the T505 proper stands they are arriving soon

Looks like a Linn Klimax system, Antony? Did you hear that also?

if the 505s follow the same line as the other Titans, they’re bound to be pretty spectacular. You up for a pair?

Heard the 505s with just a Nova at the Bristol Show in Feb.

Un-be-liev-able!

Likewise, heard the 505 Titans at a show and was very very impressed. Went back to that Kudos room three times to make sure the music repro we'd heard was competitive with the other rooms over the course of the day. Just superb.

Dave J

the Linn in photo was in the demo room, I think to also show the Simon Price racks, but no did not hear with Linn

on Kudos I have a decision to make either 505 or 606 due to the size of my room,  but the T505 are part of the Titan range, the T808 are my fav speaker

Nice decision to make, I haven't had a chance to check out the 505s properly but in my compact 4m x 3.9m room, 606s work exceptionally well.

I had, prior to using Kudos S20s, been using WB Arcs, which were the first speaker I got to work really well in my listening room and had anticipated sticking with stand mounts, however the S20s and now the 606s have fitted right in.

Thanks Dave J - need to demo at home the 606 & 505 when the budget allows from my dealer my music room is about the same size -

current system is LP12, NDX, 282, HCDR, 300DR - have Cord Oydssey cable which I may well improve as well

Given that the total footprint is the same, I'm generally disinclined to go for standmounts if the room can stand floorstanders.  But there certainly are some sweet sounding standmounts, and the 505's are less money than the 606's.

couple of additions from me - firstly apology the system [@mention:1566878603906177] was 282/HCDR - which means to me the NDX2 had even more uplift in a week and moreover on another point thats what I have so I am really pleased - but I was so blown away by the Titans

secondly here is a picture my dealer emailed to me of the T505 on thier proper stands - WOW again and knowing the Kudos root's I bet there are good!!

Ooh they look good! Those stands look so much better /sturdier than the ones they were using at the show.

I auditioned WB Arcs around 10/12 years ago to partner the (then) newly acquired 200/282/CDX2 I'd just bought. I had (and still do have) a small listening room, complicated by an alcove which is the only place I can site speakers because of the room design. I thought they were fabulous - and they looked fantastic too. However, I ended up with a pair of Dyn Contour 1.3SE's which I felt were almost as good and were a lot cheaper. Now I'm looking at a speaker upgrade and If Kudos were good enough to replace the Arcs then they must be pretty ruddy special IMHO. Will 505's stand being near a rear wall and in corners?

Sorry if I've hijacked the thread guys!

I think they possibly might.
