Issue with Naim app on iOS - iPad

Posted by: wilro15 on 10 September 2018

Greetings!

I have a NAC-N 272 which streams from Asset UPnP on a Mac Mini.  The setup has been working great for months (maybe longer).  Recently I noticed a problem with trying to list music by artist with the Naim app which seems to only affect my iPad, and not my iPhone.

On my iPad, if I select UPnP > Asset-UPnP > Artists, I see a list like this:

  01 [All Artists]

  02 [A..]

  03 [B..]

  04 [C..]

  and so on.

If I select any of these items, the Naim app reports "28 tracks were added".  The 272's display first says "Connecting..." and then after a second or two reverts to "Stopped".  What I would expect is a list of artists whose name starts with whichever letter I choose.

However, if I use my iPhone and select Artists, I see a list with the Asset icons depicting *, A, B, C, and so on.  When choosing one of these I then see a list of artists whose name begins with that letter.  In other words, this is the expected behaviour.

At first I thought this was a problem with Asset UPnP, but now that I see different behaviour on iPad and iPhone I am thinking it might be the Naim app?

Is anyone else having this problem?

Try clearing the UPNP cache on the offending iPad.

It's in the UPNP's input settings.

How do I clear the UPnP cache?  Is this the same as clearing the image cache?  I tried that but it had no effect.

I picked up my wife's old iPad and installed the Naim app on there too.  Weirdly, that works completely OK, so it does seem to be isolated to the one device.

Never mind, I have reinstalled the Naim app, and now it works OK.

Thanks for your help.
