Hi all

just a hypothetical thought, don’t take to seriously....

Would things be just as clear cut if instead you were sold a sound style to suit you and your taste apossed to I ladder of sound improvements fulfilled by budget.

Apart from the Statement, if Naims products were the same price across the given ranges i.e. ND5XS 2, NDX2 and ND555 and likewise for pre amps, amps and supplies And given more generic names like the Streamers called NDA,NDB,NDC. Would everyone end up with the same system, or would we all be different? It would be hard to argue one product against another.

As I say this is hypothetical as I know this wouldn’t be possible due to manufacturing costs between products.

I don’t think our systems are that different as it is but of course the reason we have our systems is the same a love of music b

Everyone has different tastes, what sounds great to one not necessarily for another.....

throw into the mix we all hear things differently... so nothing is clear cut....

Interesting hypothesis, so if all sections of your system were at the same cost, buyer's would be forced to only use their ears as the 'it costs more so it must be better' could not influence the comparison in the listening tests. Makes it almost a blind test especially if the boxes look like. Rich
