Audio Show East

Posted by: Gazza on 14 September 2018

For those interested Audio show east is Nov 2nd and 3 rd which is only a few weeks away if those that live outside of the east Anglia want and need to plan a trip. I am sure Richard and Signals will post something pretty soon, but those interested can look at the Signals site for the latest exhibitors. I thoroughly enjoyed it last year...others who have been to the big events are better able to compare. And it’s free....voluntary charity contribution last year. Anyway, more for those who would have to plan a trip.

The best audio show. Lovely venue, lots of easy parking, not too overcrowded. Highly recommended!

If a few Forumites end up going, maybe we should try to meet up at the show and maybe ask the organiser to have some blank badges so we can show our Forum names.

Any interest?

BTW, last year's show was excellent but I failed to meet up with any from the Forum because I simply don't know what you look like!

It has been suggested that I should wear my favourite red Fez, but there must be a more discreet way!

Well I am up for that , but for those that know Signals they punch way above their weight. It’s a brilliant dealership for a number of brands.....but it’s not a big chain. I am amazed that Alistair and Andy....do this each year.

I think we should do this ourselves, a self adhesive label......I bet people don,t bother. So to add this complexity is not going to happen,

I will wear a badge......hope some forum members will, but asking Signals is too much.

Totally agree gazza

They have enough on their plates already

Surely we can organise a bit of card ourselves

I'm in

How difficult is it for Signals to bring some blank name badges, put them in a box labeled 'Naim Forumites' at the reception desk, that we hand back as we leave. All Forumites who sign up to meet will know to pick one up and write their Forum name on it.

If there is no organisation, it will be just like last year. Us all promising to meet up and then rubbing shoulders and failing to identify each other.

Who knows, Signals may just pick up an order (or two) for an ND555, if they get a Forum gathering!

You'll easily spot me - old bloke wearing jeans & tatty T-shirt. But the real giveaway - I've got hair!

I took my wife to one of these events, she said she'd never seen so many grey haired men wearing polo shirts in one place. So yes name badges are a good idea.

Interesting to me that Linn don,t seem to be attending again......

not sure why they just seem to avoid events?

What a good idea to have name badges, if someone else does them, though. Idea.............

Nick,

Is it humanly possible to multi-task to the extent of managing to do both coffee (I'd love to try it by the way) and name badges at the same event?

Best regards, FT

If I were Signals I would be all over this idea to get an many devoted Naimees at this event as possible, many in buying (or at least considering) mode in relation to new streamers, me included.

If they can organise such a wonderful event, why would organising a few blank name (Naim?) badges trip them up?

FT, not sure that I am 'allowed' to do the coffee at Trinity Park; nothing to do with Signals, simply the terms of the hire, I believe. If you would like a bag or 2 of coffee then I am happy to bring some. Let me know nearer the time. I will drop you an email.

I’ll be there

Sounds like a rugby league ground in a chapel going area of Yorkshire

Hope all who go to Alastair and Andy's event have a great time.

To kill this one, I will bring a roll of sticky labels and pen and leave at the signing in desk......you sign in for the event to enter the raffle. Might be quite special as it’s the 25 th of Signals.....worth doing was a Muso QB last year. I never win anything so that improves your odds.

Crikey, I've just 'bean' tipped off on this  Thanks for the thread Gazza!

First off, our trusty coffee supplier has offered to do some badges with Roastery 112 printed on them. Let's call then Naim Tags

This year, the eventbrite ticket will also form the free draw ticket, so please bring it along. Also, Forum Member tickets will be marked so that those on the front desk will know to give you the Naim Tag too.

The link to the eventbrite page is on audioshoweast.com

Since Naim will be there, I'm sure they will put a proper link on here at some point.

Oh gosh.....you guys are amazing. No chance of a Fez for that bloody @ Nigelb....just kidding( hoping).

Knew you guys could do it. Looking forward to being there and meeting some Forum members. Also looking forward to hearing the ND555, surely tipped to be the star of the show.

And Gazza, it seems I won't need my Fez this year!

Pam and I will be there on the Friday, always a great show and a friendly social occasion too.

Looks like I'll be there on the Saturday morning.

A big thank you to Alastair & Andy.

Best regards, FT

I am going to be greedy and go both days.

Posted on: 17 September 2018 by Gazza

Yes both days for me too.

Posted on: 18 September 2018 by tonym

If I manage to get a two-day pass, I shall also be there for the two days.

A change to our holiday plans happily means I will now be able to attend at least the Friday. I feel a little guilty attending for 2 years in a row, yet still not having given Signals any business to date. That situation could easily change however as I still have half an eye on Kudos Titans of one sort or another and at the very least I’ll need a Muso or QB for my new kitchen soon...

look forward to meeting some more forum members there!

ill be there on friday....i'll be the one trying to slip the nd555 in my bag...
