N-272 FM Seek Lock problem

I have two different Naim N-272’s on different systems in my house. I’ve noticed in using them that the FM Seek Lock function works differently between these units. On one of the units the Seek Lock function can only pull in two stations when set to Medium. I have to turn it to High to find my regular stations.

The other unit works fine on Medium, pulling in over 40 stations. Even more when set to High.

Both tuners operate off the same Ron Smith aerial. I’ve tried switching the coax leads to see if it was a connection problem. I’ve even tried completely swapping the devices. All to no avail.

I’m at a loss in understanding why one unit is working differently than the other. Both preamps are set identically otherwise, inculing presets. Is there a way to change the attenuation on Seek Lock?

This question may well be answered by phoning Naim help desk. I've used them several times and the staff are very knowledgeable and will walk you through trouble shooting. Rich
