Apple IOS 12.0.1 bug?

Posted by: Foot tapper on 13 October 2018

I have just updated my iphone to the latest operating system: 12.0.1, then synched it with the computer.

It now still recognises .aif music files but rejects all .aiff files, which is somewhat regrettable to put it mildly.

The few old cds that I ripped with itunes saved the files as .aif   The 98+ % that I ripped with dBPoweramp or XLD saved files as .aiff .

The end result is that almost none of our music library on the NAS drives can now be recognised on our mobile apple devices.

Is anyone else experiencing this glitch?

Yours mildly concerned, FT

Just checked - my iPhone 7 Plus can play .aiff files using iTunes and it’s on 12.0.1. Is this what you’re having trouble with or are you using a different app. The music is stored in the phones memory (“in iTunes”) on the phone - I’m not at home at the moment so can’t try from another source

Thank you Tallguy.

Synchronising the iphone to the imac using itunes as normal wiped out all the aiff files on the iphone after upgrading the IOS from 12.0 to 12.0.1 this evening.  I could only synchronise aif files.

However, half an hour later, itunes began to recognise aiff files again so all of them have now been downloaded on to the iphone.

So in summary, 30 minutes of heart flutter but it has sorted itself out now.

Thank goodness! FT
