Spotify Connect issue with Naim Streaming Devices
Posted by: Richard Dane on 15 October 2018
We are aware of the issue users are currently experiencing when trying to use Spotify Connect with a number of our streamers.
We are working with Spotify to find a resolution and can confirm that the issue isn’t anything to do with any Naim updates.
In the meantime we recommend streaming using Spotify via either Google Cast, Airplay or Bluetooth and you can find instructions how to do so below:
Airplay/Bluetooth: In the Spotify app, select more devices in the speaker list to send the audio via Airplay (iOS only) or Bluetooth.
Chromecast: To use Chromecast, you must have this enabled correctly on your product. Go to Settings > Input Settings > Chromecast in the Naim app and ensure it is enabled. If not, simply check the box and follow the on screen instructions. Or, you can run through the Setup Wizard again from the Rooms screen of the Naim app. Then in the Spotify app you can switch how the audio stream is sent to the product by tapping the three dots '...' next to the speaker name. Choose Google Cast (another name for Chromecast) and then select that speaker. After a few seconds the audio will be transferred to the product.
We will update social media channels and the Naim Forum with more information as soon as we have an update.
Please be assured we are doing everything we can to resolve and hope to bring you a resolution as soon as possible, in the meantime please bear with us and try alternative methods of connection. If your still struggling to connect with the alternative methods please contact our support team at support@naimaudio.com and they will be able to assist you further.
Thank you for your patience.
