Humble office system

Reading through some ND555 posts. And Naim upgrade paths.
Running a NAD D3020 fed by work PC's noisy usb out + spotify into Totem Kin Minis.
The system is good enough to take me into the zone - where I can work for hours.
And surprisingly, no niggles about what could be made better, upgrades etc.
And at home, contemplating the next upgrade - from ND555/552/500/Kudos Super 20s to some endgame speakers.
If only I can get as much pleasure from that big system from this modest sub 1K system.
Another shout for the little NAD D3020 here in my humble office system driving Q Acoustics Concept 20s on their dedicated stands. I also have a small Quad LF-66 subwoofer under the desk filling out the lower frequencies. I'm very attached to this system which has given so many years of excellent service.
When I really need to concentrate I avoid listening to music that's too familiar or anything where the lyrics are the main focus. This is where Spotify playlist radio comes in and provides the perfect mix (not always but most of the time).
+1 for the Qute 2 - cracking little system that makes my office full of sound. Sources are Rega P1 and my QNAP NAS as well as Spotify and it drives 2 little Neat Iotas beautifully.

And presumably a source and amp...
(I was picking up on reference to just a DAC as a ‘system’.)
I bought a Chord Mojo and a pair of Beyer Amiron Homes for late night listening via my SU digital out. When I'm in my home office I just plug the mojo into my iphone (via the camera adaptor thing) and listen to Tidal HiFi. Pretty amazing VFM at <£1k (excluding the phone).
Richard Dane posted:My own office system has recently seen a bit of a kit shuffle. The Oppo BDP93 and Naim Unitiqute 2 are still in residence, but the Kans have recently been removed for some refurbishment (the rather shabby black ash cabinets were beginning to grate) and in their place I have moved in my Epos ES-14s on their original stands. I'd almost forgotten what great speakers are the ES-14s, and the UQ2 seems to be having no great difficulty in driving them in the small space.
Richard, I've just recently refurbed some mk1 Kans with a new tweeter from some Isobariks of same era as one of the Kans had gone. A fairly mint set of Afro finish that are one of the best sets i've heard/owned. They are also driven by my UQ2 to great effect, but they can't oust the Kabers that do normal duty in that system. In fact presently i'm playing my Royd Minstrel in the same setup, and they really manage to put a smile on my face. Nice to be able to swap these round every now and then, and all three together go for less than a modern bookshelf speaker, and i've not heard one that sounds as good as any of these.
My 2nd system is a Qb and I continue to be blown away by it.
Mango, this is where you can have some fun with your hifi. I’m listening to my home system as I type and it’s all I’ve ever wanted, but my office system is where I really ge to explore and try different things.
Right now I have a moon audio half width dac/headphone amp fed from my desk top and a Core (that will come home at some point) and an old Sugden amp with small totems.
I have a recapped nait 2 that I’ve been swapping out with the Sugden. On my floor is a 42 / 110 combo I bought from the original owner that I plan to have recapped.
Mixing and matching gear at my office has been the most fun I’ve had with hifi. You can explore different synergies at modest price points and buy, sell and trade on the used market. Enjoy!
Agreed. The second system can be for playing around with ...
