Naim Mu-So and Tidal streaming

Posted by: NickyB on 18 October 2018

Hello,

I'm new the forum and Naim products. I am thinking of a purchase of the Mu-So. I'm wondering how Tidal works with the Mu-So.

I understand there is Tidal integration with the Naim APP, but my question is, does Tidal then stream the selected music from the iOS/Android device to the Mu-So via WiFi (or Bluetooth), or is there code within the Mu-So that then gets the stream via its WiFi or Ethernet port from the Router.

The reason I ask is that my iPhone 6S does not support Bluetooth APTX, so I'm hoping the streaming comes from the network and not streaming from my phone over Bluetooth,

Thanks for any advice,

Nick

The phone app just acts as a control point, telling the Muso which track/album to stream direct from Tidal, so no bluetooth involved/needed for Tidal.

Indeed you can close the App and the stream will continue until the playlist runs out.

Give it a wired Ethernet connection if you can, it is generally more robust than WiFi.

Chris, I agree but I have to admit that Tidal works great on my mu-so Qb which is connected via wifi
