Post Vetting

A new thing I've noticed is my posts are being vetted - is it just me or is it the case for everyone? If so, why?

Jonners, a couple of your posts contained a word that gets caught in the moderation filter.  It happens sometimes, just be glad you're not trying to post about a day out in Scun...

What, in the Hi-Fi Forum? I try to save any vernacular for the Padded Cell Richard! Are the sort of words I used which were caught be the filers covered in Forum Rules? If so, I'll have to re-read them...oh well.....

I've been confused a couple of times in the Music Room, when posting that I've been listening to Richard Thompson's son whose name is a dimunitive of Edward.

Jonners, usually it's a word hidden within a different and totally innocent word - like that town in North Lincolnshire - that sets it off. The system isn't smart enough to know the difference.

Ah, I think it could have been overuse of the word "PRAT"!

The Naim forum hasn't been the only system affected in the past.   Most have sorted it now though!

As I've said before, the old Richard Thompson forum used to change a day of the week to Sadoggie-dooay.

That's brilliant! BTW - Mr.Thompson can be seen patronising my local boozer on occasion, he's even been know to knock out a few tunes. Nice chap, as all the Fairporters appear to be.

Reminds me of an old episode of BBC Radio4's I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue from Nottingham:

It's well documented in official records that the City's original name was 'Snottingham', or 'Home of Snots', but when the Normans came, they couldn't pronounce the letter 'S', so decreed the town be called 'Nottingham' or the 'Home of Notts'. It's easy to understand why this change was resisted so fiercely by the people of Scun... <insert north Lincolnshire town here>
