Hi can anyone tell me if the 250dr goes well with proac d20r plz iI'v just tried the d28 and it was to much bass,my room is 5m by 4 m .

I would hold off, inbetween my standard Proac Tab 10 and signatures I tried the D20R with my 250DR and my room is similar size, tried everything but the boom would not go away.

The Proac Tab 10 Sig will be my last speaker.

That is most likely to be speaker / room interaction and nothing to do with the power amp.

Same here:  I reached a limit in terms of “gain” regarding loudspeakers for my equivalent room size. My bookshelf (MA Rx2) is the limit regarding bass . My improvements got to go in the “finesse” ground versus quantity. Have saying that, the ProAc tab anniversary was the best (synergy) I’ve eard up to 1500€ with naim products

My ProAc D20R's, albeit with a 300, are possibly the most balanced speakers I’ve had. Room acoustics and size have such an impact, it really rams home the need for home trial. BTW, my room size is similar to yours (Aceone).

My previous speakers were D20r paired with SuperUniti. Bass boominess was completely controlled via a set of Herbies Gliders. I now use Stillpoints Ultra SS to fantastic effect with K6 speakers paired with 250DR. My room is the dreaded square (approx 5m x 5m).

I believe and hope you're right.

I've got D48rs with a 250dr and possibly this is wrong. But I'm adding a load of bass traps to the room 16-20 each 120x60x10cm of extra heavy Rockwool.

If you're going to use a permeable medium for the bass traps, then they need to be enclosed in a flexible airtight membrane.  Bass traps need to be pressure mode absorbers, rather than flow mode absorbers.

Huge, I hear what you say but in my earlier professional experiences and my much more recent home experiences I have had great benefit in using bass absorbers that are permeable and unenclosed. A buddy of mine has also fitted out a home recording studio and permeable panels and blocks (shaped acoustic foam) in corners has  massively helped to reduce bass resonances.

the only down side with acoustic foam is that the cat likes to knead it for some reason

Hi been to Vickers hifi today and auditioned proac d20r and roksan Darius S1 speakers . The Darius S1 where excellent sound quality for there size   but I just loved the proac d20r for sound quality and looks ,they sound awesome with my 250dr and there is no bass boom so thanks to everyone on this site that has given me some advice.

I am running D20S with 250DR. Lovely!

Hi engjoo what cables are you using with your setup .

I too am running D30RS with NAIM 250DR. Lovely combination in room 9m by 4.5m. Great imaging, dynamics and scale.  Had the D28s in same room for a brief period, but as others have commented the bass was too often uncontrolled. In a different room on a different continent with marble floors, concrete walls etc. the D28s sounded much better. Haven’t heard the D20s on the end of a 250DR but I would imagine they would sound good. As ever, home trial is essential precursor to purchase.

ProAc seem to match particularly well with Chord. I ran D20r with Chord Epic Twin, now use Epic Reference between 250DR and K6. I tried Superlumina, but it simply didn’t sound as good in my system.

Any thoughts on the ProAc Response DB1s or DB3s?

Room is 6m x 5m, with N272 & 250 DR currently in residence. Doubtful I can get a home demo of the above, hence the question.

(Sorry if this constitutes a threadjack, but wasn't sure if this warranted a new thread.)
