Uniti 2 WiFi set up

I am trying to input my Wifi password, how do I change the letters to upper case?

You press the store button to get upper case. You’ll find this in the manual, which is where I’ve just looked.

Many thanks, I only got the Uniti at lunchtime and have only managed a brief look at the manual, I am also trying to feed my TV through Uniti via a digital connection, when I select TV on the remote should it automatically connect providing I have selected the correct source on the TV ?

You need to make sure it’s connected to the digital input that corresponds to TV on the remote. The one bit of advice I’d give you is to connect your new Uniti to your network with a wire. Its wireless is a bit ropey and it wil very likely end in tears.

Many thank for the excellent advice.

Project for tomorrow is to fully digest the manual

You will need to set the TV sound output to PCM to get the Uniti to play it.

If you can use a wired Ethernet connection instead of WiFi, you will almost certainly get a more reliable connection.

You can rename every input. So connect you TV to e.g. „Digital 1“ and rename it to „TV“. Then you can edit the remote control „tv“-key to switch to the renamed „TV“ input. You also can add more inputs to one key, so you toggle through them when pressing the key muliple times.

Many thanks.

Having read the manual twice there are a couple of things I am not sure of.

1. Am I right assuming if Spotify is enabled then I need to sign up for Spotify premium and launch it from the App on my MacBook.

2. How do I load and enable Tidal, I have subscribed to the normal account

3. Is there a set procedure for loading radio stations, having scanned the manual numerous times and don't find it clear.

Assuming you have an iOS device, run the Spotify app on that as well as the Naim app. You use Spotify Connect to control playback from the Spotify app.

Tidal is different in that you can control it from within the Naim app. Once you have signed up for a Tidal account, which is probably most easily done on a computer, just use the same login details to sign in on the Naim app, which will request these details when you try to use the Tidal input.

Regarding iRadio, there are a huge number of stations which you can search and browse via the iRadio input. It's very likely that the station you want to listen to will be there, all you need to do is navigate to it. You can then save it as a favourite, to make it easier to find next time.

If you can't see Tidal as an input option of your Uniti 2 in the Naim app, then it's firmware hasn't been upgraded properly. Post back here and one of us can tell you what you need to get the seller to do.

I have both iPhone & iPad, the iPhone and the Spotify app recognises Uniti 2 but it is greyed out and states Premium account required

Thank you

I have checked the inputs and Tidal is shown on Uniti 2, if I go to the Naim app I get the welcome page which invites to setup a new product, on selecting this option the next page does not include the Uniti 2

That's because the Uniti 2 and indeed all the legacy streamers don't need setting up in the app. If you back out of "setup a new room" the app should just find your Uniti 2. Then you tap the Uniti 2 icon and you are in.

So then you should be able to select Tidal in the app page for your Uniti 2, enter your details and go from there. But someone who actually uses Tidal needs to take over now as I don't myself.

Hi David

Many thanks, the app recognised the Uniti 2, I would be grateful if someone could chip in and advise my next step.

Yes, you need a paid Spotify Premium account. All these streaming services offer free trials, I would sign up to a couple and see what you think.
