Tidal stops after each track on my Nova

Posted by: Klout10 on 02 November 2018

Quick question - as per the title of this topic; since a couple of days most of the time Tidal stops after playing a track ... not always ... switching the Nova off and back on has not changed this behaviour.

Any thoughts on this?

are you playing a complete album or just a track? if its a single track and the repeat option is turned off it will stop

Of course I'm playing a whole album or playlist ... after the first track has finished, I need to start the second one manually ...

It used to be OK in the past and this is now only happening occasionally.

I rarely use a Tidal, but this happens to me occasionally when playing ripped and downloaded on my Nova albums.  In addition to planning one track and stopping it will also sometimes played tracks in a random order (very interesting for classical!). Reported it to Naim helpline a couple of months or more ago and they said they would investigate, but I’ve heard nothing since.

I have also encountered this lately: select an album, get the first track, find yourself back in the Nova home screen after it ends, even though the play queue had several entries.

My other observation is that on my iPhone, where I mostly live in “offline” mode to play downloaded tracks, I am sometimes prompted to login again as my session has expired; things go fine after that... and so I have tried logging out of Tidal and logging back in on my Nova via the Naim app. This has had immediate success, although I’ve only done it a couple of times. Hope this works for you.

I occasionally get this. I’m trying to play Dare by Human League on Tidal. It loads all ten tracks but at the end of the first it gives the message ‘Unable to load file’ and it empties the queue. It does the same if I start the replay on the next track.

Id played a couple of albums fine before this.

I switched to a different version of the album with the same problem. Switched to a different band and that’s working fine. I suspect it’s a problem with Tidals files.

This eventing it's awful ... logged out and back in on Tidal, switched off the Nova and router ... but with no result ...

Now I've returned to playing my FLAC files from my NAS
