Hi All,
I'm completely new to Naim, but so far I have been really impressed with the quality of sound and of the build also.
Thing is I'd really like to increase the low level baseline of its output so I've brought a Dali E12F active sub, which I plan to use the pre-amp outputs to connect it to the star.
Firstly I'm told this is the right way to do it? But is it and is there a better way?
Secondly with this being pre-amp does this mean the output is constant and therefore won't move up or down with the volume control?
Sorry if this sounds a really simple or stupid question, but as I say I'm new to this and its cost me a bit so want to get it right. Thanks all.

Hi there. I have an active sub plugged into Atom. Correct. Plug into the “pre-amp out” sockets. For getting volume about right: the accepted wisdom is that you turn up the volume on the sub until you can clearly hear the sub, then turn down the volume (again on the sub) just a little. After that, Uniti controls volume relative to volume of Unity (i.e. just control volume using Uniti, don’t keep twiddling the sub’s volume control). Obviously some like a bit more oompf than others. So above is just a ball park way of getting close to the right level of bass. Adjust to taste !

Pre-amp output mean that it goes through the pre-amp and hence through the volume control. By contrast, line-out generally by-passes the volume control. So, set the level of your sub in relation to the main speakers (just so it's not obviously perceptible tends to be best) and then the level fo the sub will then move up and down with the change in volume level from the Uniti.
