Questions/Problems concerning HDX - Thanks for your Help
Posted by: drago on 05 November 2018
Hi to everyone,
as this is my first post here, I would like to say Hi to everyone and also give a big thanks in advance for your answers and nice topics here.
I am an old naim lover - since the beginning fof 1990's.
I have an olive System and have not heared a lot of music in the last years, til... till I very recently bought a end of 2012 (used) HDX + nDAC. WOW - music hearing - I am back again! I do love the sound and the concept of this machine so much. It brought me back to naim - thanks naim HDX.
Besides all the fun there are 2 questions coming up.
1.
I recognised, that after adding the HDX to my network the NAS did not go to "HDD-sleep mode" any more. I found the reason in the DTC under Tools/scannable netwok shares, where it indicates that there is a recurring "Host Scan" going on approx every 10 minuntes.
Is this a default setting? I see no reason for this - I can do the Host Scan manually if I want. I have tested every setting in DTC (e.g. ingnoring shares) - Host Scan is still coming up.
Is there a way to disable this?
2.
I also found in DTC that under the section "AMG Upgrade Monitor" there are processes running from time to time (mainly on weekends). These processes are all going into "connection timeout" after that into several retries before they are listed as "Retry attempts exceeded: Connection timeout.." in the system settings.
I can clear these processes but they came up again the next day.
All of these upgrade attemts (except one) refer to music, which I have copied from the HDX server "partition" to the downloads share. Meaning that I do have files in my download section, which were originally stored in a different location. Maybe I do now have a lost link somewhere?
Does anyone have an idea on this?
Maybe all 2 topics are connected to each other. See also to a third one "Problems with HDX - HDX feezes - Thanks for your Help" in the Hifi Corner.
I plan to bring the HDX to the service and I thik a clean software image is a must, but every hint from you will be so much appreciated!
Thank you all so much in advance and sorry for the long post,
Fine regards!
